Solid (Oh)
Solid as a rock
And nothing’s changed it (Ooh)
The thrill is still hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot, hot

Little did those two know that they were describing inorganic solid state chemistry that day. It’s such an appropriate thing, I decided to name this blog after it. There’s so many chemistry blogs in the blogosphere, but there’s nothing covering what is important to me…solid state inorganic chemistry. So I decided to do one. Hopefully people will appreciate it.

What will be here? well, mainly my take on the latest and greatest in solid state inorganic chemistry, condensed matter physics, and other such related things. Then funny stories from graduate school and anything else I feel like putting here.

About me:
I’m a PhD student at a primarily research university. My research interests lay in fundamental science, particularly solid state chemistry and condensed matter physics. Exploratory synthesis, crystallography, characterization and electronic structure calculations are my life right now, and I think it will be for the rest of my life.
